Hurshel Fay Hancock was born to Louring and Hurshel Hancock on December 26, 1942, in Auburn, MS, at the home of her grandparents, Tommy and Ethel Lewis. She lived most of her life in Franklin County, Mississippi near her grandparents, Clyde and Eana Hancock, where she and her family were life-long members of Siloam Baptist Church. She spent her last twenty one years being cared for by her brother and his family. She passed away on February 16, 2018 in Jonesville, LA.
Ms. Hancock is survived by one brother, Thomas Clyde Hancock, Sr. and his wife Peggy. She was "Aunt Fay" to three nephews, their wives, four great-nephews, three great nieces, a great-great nephew and a great-great niece.
Fay lived her life with an infectious smile on her face and an attitude that inspired everyone she met. If you knew her, you knew that she loved life, her family and Elvis. her family and friends know that although she never walked, on February 16, 2018 she ran to meet her mother and daddy in Heaven. One of her favorite Bible verses was Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, and to them that are called to his purpose"
Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Siloam Baptist Church in Franklin County. Rev. Leon Wallace will officiate the service.
