Mr. Hiram Carlock Jr, 81, was called into the presence of the Lord on May 31, 2015, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Meadville, MS. Mr. Carlock was born in Franklin County, MS on April 27, 1934 to Mr. Hiram Carlock Sr. and Mrs. Irene Rollins Carlock.
Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS on June 2, 2015 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM and continue at First Baptist Church Bude, June 3, 2015 at 10:30 AM till time of service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service will follow in the Midway Cemetery. Rev. Tony Mullins will officiate the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Carlock was a retired Air Force member with over twenty one years of service. He served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He returned home where he owned and operated Carlock's Grocery in Bude, MS for many years. He spent his later years as a volunteer for the U.S. Forestry Service in Idaho as a caretaker of Paddy Flat Outpost. He was known as a gentle man who loved and touched many people with his generosity and care for all. He loved his family very much and will be missed by all.
Mr. Carlock is preceded in death by his parents, Hiram Carlock Sr. and Irene Rollins Carlock; three sisters, Lula Mae Carlock, Maude Golman, Ruth Cosby, and one brother, Marvin Carlock.
Survivors are brothers, Kirby Carlock and wife Jewel of Natchez, MS, Rufus and wife Madeline of Mountain Home, AR; son, Ray Carlock and wife Janet of Meadville, MS; daughters, Evelyn Irene Higgins and husband Mike of Bude, MS, Linda Darlene Long and husband Roger of Bismarck, ND, and Toni Ann Connelly and husband Paul of Ocean Springs, MS; twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are members of the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
Honorary Pallbearers are Corey Jackson, Jordan Jackson, Eric Higgins, Shaun Higgins, Jake Long, Zach Putz, Josh Long, Kane Carlock, Jace Carlock, and Clarence Harris.
