Funeral services for Mr. Gregory Tindle Sr. will be on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at, Meadville Baptist Church in Meadville, MS at 12:00 PM, with burial to follow in the Midway Cemetery in Meadville, MS.  Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Meadville, Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM.

Gregory Thompson Tindle, Sr. passed away peacefully Saturday morning, March 11th, in his home surrounded by his beloved family. He was 81.

Gregg was born February 17, 1942. He was raised in Cleveland, Mississippi on the family farm. Gregg graduated from Cleveland High school in 1960. He attended Morehead Community College where he played football. He graduated from Delta State University in 1966.

Gregg married his soulmate, Patsy Price in 1964. They moved to Meadville Mississippi in 1966 where he accepted his first job at Franklin County High School and became known as 'Coach'. He taught for 28 years. His love of teaching made him become known as the 'feared Government/Economics teacher' until he retired in 1994.

Gregg dedicated himself over the years to helping others. He served as Mayor of Meadville from 1984-2005. He was an Alderman, Judge, Fireman, Bus Driver, Truck driver and Car Salesman. He was a member of Meadville Baptist Church for 57 years. He loved his church family and enjoyed singing in the choir.

His favorite pastime was riding his motorcycle all over the US. He enjoyed riding with others who shared his love for the ride.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Mary Evelyn Tindle. Brothers, Garth Tindle and Gerry Tindle and sister-in-law, Lynette Tindle.

He leaves behind Patsy Tindle, his wife of 59 years. 2 Sons, Sheriff Tom Tindle (Kaky Tindle) and Tim Tindle (Jacqueline Everett); 6 grandchildren, Molly Linton(Derek), Brittany Devoll (Shawn), Tucker Tindle, Trey Tindle, Trent Tindle and Marlee Tindle; 4 great grands, Lila, Adrian, Ella and Barry. Sister-in-law, Rosemary Tindle and 5 nieces and nephews.

He loved his family. He kept up with each one's activities, even when he could no longer attend.

He wanted all of his family and friends to love the Lord so they could be with him in Heaven.
