A graveside service for Greg Cotten will be on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery in Meadville, MS at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 9:00 AM until 11 AM at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS. Rev. Pat Sullivan will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Gregory Lane (Greg) Cotten, of Meadville, passed from this life at his residence on September 30, 2025. Greg was born on June 3, 1957. He was the son of Bobby Ray Cotten and Daisy Sue (Wentworth) Cotten. He is preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his mother, sister Bobette (Bart) Jones, Niece Barrett (Dewayne) Whetstone, Great Nieces Summer and Shelby Whetstone, Nephew Baron (Hannah) Jones, Great Niece Mia Jones and Great Nephews Wyatt and Gunner Jones. He is also survived by his Uncle Harold (Maye) Wentworth and a host of cousins and friends.

Greg was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed cooking and was a lifelong Mississippi State and Southern Miss fan. All who knew him knew he had a great love of baseball and was a dedicated Pine Knot. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Pallbearers are Yancey Wentworth, Jim Priest, Rich Scott, Jesse Scott, Sonny Brown, and Brandon Goldsmith. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Grove Methodist Church, Oak Grove Rd., Meadville, MS 39653.
