Obituary

Grace Helen Halford, 87, was called into the presence of the Lord on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Franklin County Memorial Hospital in Meadville, MS. Mrs. Halford was born at Hamburg, MS, November 18, 1928, to Alex H. (Sr.) and Pearl Aldridge Bonds.
Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS on Sunday, July 10, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue at Providence Baptist Church on Monday, July 11, 2016, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service will follow in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Cletus Moak and Bro. Herman Aldridge will be officiating the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Halford was a member of Providence Baptist Church. On July 13, 1946, she married the love of her life, Aaron T. "Bully" Halford. She was a homemaker and loved to spend time with her family. She loved to garden, growing flowers, and to cook. She was known for her chicken and dumplings and her cathead biscuits. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alex H. (Sr.) and Pearl Aldridge Bonds; husband, Aaron T. "Bully" Halford; son, Larry L. "Skeeter" Halford; son-in-law, Walter Oakman; 5 brothers; and 5 sisters.
Survivors are her daughters, Alma Halford Cochran of Pearl, MS, Martha Halford Oakman of Clinton, MS, and Debbie Halford Adams and husband Randy of Brookhaven, MS; sons, Bud Halford of Pearl, MS, and Johnny Halford of Terry, MS; daughter-in-law, Debbie Bankston Halford of Meadville, MS; sister, Margarette "Tiny" Temple of Meadville, MS; sister-in-law, Patsy Arseneau of Natchez, MS; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Meadville Convalescent Home and Franklin County Memorial Hospital.
The family request donations be sent to the Alzheimer's Association or Providence Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
