Sonny passed from this life unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Natchez, Mississippi, on December 16, 1983, to the late George Woodrow "Woody" Brown, Jr. and Elizabeth "Libby" Brown Herring.

Sonny was a devoted husband of 15 years to Megan Farr Brown and a proud father to his two sons, Carter Brown and Cooper Brown, who were the absolute center of his world. He loved turkey and deer hunting and treasured every opportunity to take his boys with him, teaching them not only the sport but the values of patience, respect, and time well spent together. He coached his sons and practiced baseball with them tirelessly, always their biggest supporter and loudest cheerleader.

Sonny never met a stranger and had more friends than anyone could count. He was truly the light in every room — steady, joyful, and full of life. His smile was contagious, and his presence made others feel welcome and valued. Above all, he was a loving husband and wonderful father whose legacy will live on through his boys.

Preceding him in death was his father, George Woodrow "Woody" Brown, Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Megan Farr Brown; his sons, Carter Brown and Cooper Brown; his mother, Elizabeth "Libby" Brown Herring and husband Ed Herring; his sister, Alisa Brown Smith and husband Doyle Smith; his brother, Cass Brown; his parents-in-law, Greg and Kathy Farr; his sister-in-law, Emily Farr Watson and husband Graham Watson; and a host of extended family members and countless friends who loved him dearly.

Pallbearers will be Michael Paul Wallace, Johnny Myers, Cliff Herring, Logan King, Bert Smith, Grant Sullivan, Spencer Romero, Kyle Trout, and Clint Herring.

Honorary pallbearers will be Colby Beach, Graham Watson, Chris Blackwell, Brendan Mccaskell, Tebow Hunt, Joey Sullivan, Vance Windom, Brett Herring, and Walt Davis.
