Garveese Dillon, 84, was called home from this life on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at his home in the presence of his loving family in Meadville, MS. He was born April 7, 1931, in Franklin County, MS to Emmitt and Cebelle Wilkinson Dillon.

Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS on Thursday, June 11, 2015, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Friday, June 12, 2015, from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 10:00 AM at Meadville Baptist Church. The graveside service will follow in Midway Cemetery. Rev. Matt Alexander and Dr. Matt Buckles will officiate the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Dillon was a retired self-employed merchant. He was a lifetime deacon of Meadville Baptist Church. He served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed rabbit hunting and traveling. He loved spending time with his wife and family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He is preceded in death by parents, Emmitt and Cebelle Wilkinson Dillon; and one great granddaughter, Elyse Woodyear.

Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Ethel Guice Dillon of Meadville, MS; daughters, Jo Margaret Dillon Woodyear and husband Joe of Laurel, MS, Karen Dillon Buckles and husband Matt of Vicksburg, MS, and Arie Dillon Long and husband Ricky of Roxie, MS; grandchildren, Mandy Long Higgins and husband Eric, Jim Woodyear and wife Sarah, Kevin Long and wife Danielle, Doug Buckles and wife Adrienne, Kendra Buckles Watson and husband Thomas, Justin T. Woodyear, and Janna Woodyear Tyler and husband Justin; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Jim Woodyear, Justin Woodyear, Justin Tyler, Doug Buckles, Thomas Watson, Kevin Long and Eric Higgins.

Honorary Pallbearers are Deacons of Meadville Baptist Church.
