Rev. Fred Morris, Sr., 79, died Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Franklin County Memorial Hospital in Meadville, MS. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Franklin Funeral Home and continue on Monday, January 6, 2014, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at Franklin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Midway Cemetery. Bro. Mack Walker and Bro. Ted Bowlin will be officiating the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers are Chris Morris, Glen Hill, David Jefferson, Todd Bowlin, Robert Young and Ed Jackson. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Hunt, Johnny Jenkins, Mike Hill, Johnny Jordan, Danny Jordan, and Chris Lucas.

Rev. Morris was born October 24, 1934 in Jayess, MS to Edgar H. and Ruby Boyd Morris. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired minister who served for over 43 years in the following churches: New Hope Baptist Church (Franklin County), Wellman Baptist Church (Lincoln County), Cloverdale Baptist Church (Adams County), Wanilla Baptist Church (Lawrence County), Lone Star Baptist Church (Covington County), Ramah Baptist Church (Franklin County), and Riverside Baptist Church (Lawrence County).

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Marilyn E. Hill Morris: and brother: Bill Morris.

Survivors are his daughter: Sandra Morris Langley and husband Dennis of Morrilton, AR; sons: Fred Morris, Jr. of Gulfport, MS, Kerry Dale Morris of Brookhaven, MS, and Kenny Wayne Morris and wife Kenda of Bude, MS; brother: Harvey Morris of Natchez, MS; grandchildren: Mariana Morris, Courtney Morris Geoghegan, Chris Morris, Haley Coulter Carpenter, Jared Morris, Abby Morris, Tori Anne Morris, and Skyla Dawn Morris; great-grandchildren: Thomas, Cailey, and Amelia Cate Geoghegan; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
