Evelyn Jane Boyd Bein, 89, of Summit, MS, died Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Meadville Convalescent Home in Meadville, MS. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Elder Tom Griffin will officiate the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers are: Gary Cothren of Meadville, MS; David Cothren of Liberty, MS; Tracy Martin of Smithdale, MS; Joseph Cothren of Meadville, MS; Daniel Cothren of Liberty, MS; and Spencer Touchstone of McCall Creek, MS.

Mrs. Bein was born December 8, 1924 in Craddock, MO to D. E. and Estella Edgar Boyd. She was a member of Centenery United Methodist Church in McComb, MS. Mrs. Bein worked for many years as a school teacher, secretary and homemaker. She was active in volunteer work throughout her life in PTA, church and various other organizations that were dedicated to helping others. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 65 years: Fred J. Bein; sister: Lura Boyd Musgraves; and brothers: Donald Edmond Boyd and Johnny Eugene Boyd.

Survivors are her daughter: Elizabeth Ann Bein of Atlanta, GA; son: Fred Jeffrey Bein and wife Leigh Ann of Smithdale, MS; grandchildren: Anna Jane Bein and William Edmond Bein; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
