Our beloved mother and grandmother, Elizabeth Ann Emfinger, otherwise known as Liz or "Nana", passed from this life on April 25, 2024 at the ripe age of 90 in her home with her family by her side.

Liz was the heart of our family. She raised two sons, Tony and Matt in a home filled with ups and downs but most importantly filled with love demonstrated through her never ending sacrifice and service to those she loved. She devoted her life to her children, leaving her career in the banking industry to care for them the best way she knew how. Liz raised her sons to be independent and thoughtful adults who would grow up and begin families of their own. Tony's marriage to Mitzi and Matt's marriage to Amanda added to the family two daughters in love. Liz was "Nana" to Larson Emfinger, Hailey Emfinger, Mason Emfinger, and Savannah Emfinger whom she loved to spoil in her own unique way.

People were drawn to Liz's liveliness, unusual humor, and tenacity. She never met a stranger and picked up lifelong friends everywhere she went.

She had a strong sense of compassion and responsibility for one's family and community. She saved the best of everything for everyone else, especially her sons. She liked giving little gifts and never visited someone empty-handed. She always had a soft spot for the less fortunate and often forgotten. Liz was the definition of resilience, when one door closed, she tried another. When all doors closed, she knocked down a wall to make one. Elizabeth will be remembered as a strong lady; no matter what life threw at her she accepted it with grace and perseverance. She was no stranger to hard work and was one of the most selfless ladies ever known. Liz loved her family so much and was always ready for an adventure never allowing grass to grow under her feet or even her wheel chair. If there was something to do or somewhere to go she was always ready regardless. Even into her eighties trying new things was still right up her alley and when the adventure was done she would say thank you for the safe trip and want to know when we were going again. The family would like to thank Deaconess Hospice for all their care, concern, and love over these last few months.  We would especially like to show our love for Virginia Warren, TK Washington, and Chaplin David Fortenberry for how they loved our mother until her ride here was over.

Elizabeth was born February 2, 1934 to George Franklin Rand and Mildred G of Pine Ridge, Ms. Preceding her in death were her parents; along with four brothers; George Jr., Albert Dunbar, Leslie Louis, and Allen Eugene.

Still cherishing her memory are her two sons and their families along with her sister, Bessie Geraldine Montgomery Smith along with many other family and friends

Pallbearers for this farewell are her two sons, Tony and Matt Emfinger; her two grandsons, Larson and Mason Emfinger. Along with Eddie Anders and Leroy Delaughter whom she loved.
