Eleanor Brister Westbrook, 81, of Meadville, MS, was called home from this life on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at her residence in Meadville, MS. Mrs. Westbrook was born in Ruth, MS, on April 18, 1934, to Leslie Leon and Neva Lee Nettles Brister.


Visitation will be at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS, on Monday, August 17, 2015, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue at Union Primitive Baptist Church in Ruth, MS, on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service will follow in Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Luke Laird and Bro. Glenn Bird will officiate the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.


Mrs. Westbrook worked for her brother at Brister's Beauty Supply and was a homemaker. She was a member of the O'Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed the Homemaker's Club. She also loved to sew, quilt, to cook for her family and to sing gospel music. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.


She is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Joel Westbrook; parents, Leslie Leon and Neva Lee Nettles Brister; brother, Hulit Leon Brister; and grandson, Scott Stephen Westbrook.

Survivors are sons, Stephen Joel "Steve" Westbrook of Vicksburg, MS, and Mitchell Kent Westbrook and wife Susan of Brookhaven, MS; daughter, Pansy Ruth Westbrook O'Quinn and husband Pat of Meadville, MS; brother, Dan Brister and wife Sherri of Vidalia, LA; sisters, Vivian Fonger of Jayess, MS, Dianne Morgan and husband Larry of Jayess, MS, and Len Wallace of McComb, MS; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Bill Picket, Jimmy Brister, Jacob Westbrook, Clint Martin, Robert Brister, Matt Cofer, Kellum Martin and Dave Pessoney.
