Mrs. Elaine Travis, 72, was called into the presence of the Lord on July 7, 2016, at her residence in Denham Springs, LA. Mrs. Travis was born in Franklin County on March 14, 1944 to Mr. Fred W. Delaney and Mrs. Lola Mae Emfinger Delaney.
Visitation will be at New Hope Baptist Church in Meadville, MS on Saturday, July 9 from 10 AM till time of service at 12:00 PM. The graveside service will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Eric Moak will be officiating the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Travis worked at several jobs including a Data Entry Supervisor for Capital Home Health. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was active in her church and loved to play the piano for services. She loved to square dance with her many friends. She loved to spend time with her family and was a huge LSU basketball fan.
Mrs. Travis was preceded in death by her father, Fred W. Delaney and infant sister, Hilda Rae Delaney.
Survivors are husband of 10 years, Lewis Travis; mother, Lola Delaney; sons, James H. Moore III and wife Frankie, Stephen Scott Moore and wife Heidi; sister, Bobbie Nell Delaney; step daughters, Shauna Zeigler, Kim Bryan and husband Steve, and step son, Trevor Travis, along with a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are family members.
