Edgar Jackson, 78, of McCall Creek, MS, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Liberty Community Living Center in Liberty, MS. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McCall Creek Church of God and continue on Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at McCall Creek Church of God in McCall Creek, MS. The graveside service will follow in the McCall Creek Church Of God Cemetery in Franklin County. Bro. Travis Touchstone will officiate the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Jackson was born March 9, 1936 in Wisner, LA to Everett and Maybelle Posey Jackson. He was a member of the McCall Creek Church of God. He was retired from Armstrong Tire in Natchez, MS. He served in the US Army. He was an avid gardener, loved to sing gospel music with The Gospel Travelers, camping, and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was a friend to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Maybelle Posey Jackson; sisters, Betty Carroll, Rachel Rippy and Mary Jane Furr; and brothers, Robert L. Jackson and Earl K. Jackson.

Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Pauline Magee Jackson; son, Mark Jackson and wife Theresa of Liberty, MS; brothers, Clifton Jackson and wife Faye, Henry Jackson and wife Lois, and Edward Jackson and wife Sandy; sister, Dorothy Jackson Wilkinson and husband Ben; grandchildren, Samuel Gage Jackson and Elizabeth Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
