A graveside service for Mr. Curtley Hayes, Sr. will be on Saturday December 30, 2023 at Oakley Cemetery in Gilbert, LA at 10:00 AM with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Mr. Curtley Hayes, 95, of Meadville, MS passed from this life on Monday, December 25, 2023, at Claiborne County Medical Center in Port Gibson, MS. He was born on July 23, 1928 in Vick, LA to Fred Curtis Hayes and Annie Depuy Juneau.

Curtley was a resident of Meadville for 53 years.  He worked in the oil field for 60 years before retiring in 2008.  He loved sports and was a huge LSU fan.  He was a coach and baseball commissioner of the Dixie Youth Little League in Jefferson County for 10 years.

He was a kind-hearted and compassionate man that gave generously to help finance the needs of many people.  He also was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He loved his family and left his mark on many people.

Preceding him in death were his parents, siblings, Will James Juneau, and Jessie Lachiney.

Curtley is survived by his wife and soul mate of 75 years, Lillian Hayes; daughter, Connie Day of Winnesboro, LA; son, Curtley (Bozo) Hayes, Jr. (Barbara) of Summit, MS; sisters, Irene Eskew, Stella (Dinkey) Smith; grandchildren, Jennifer Binns (Freddie), George Hayes (Marnie), Summer Fife (Chris), Drew Williams (Monique), Ann Marie Harper (Travis), James Crumby; seven great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Colin, Isabella, Lilly Easter, Shelton, Abbi Grace, Jace, and Ashton.

Pallbearers are Drew Williams, James Newman, Julius Wittington, Chris Fife, George Hayes, and Freddie Binns.
