Freeman, Sr.
March 27, 1939 – June 19, 2019
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Freeman will be on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Siloam Baptist Church in Meadville, MS, at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Leon Wallace will be officiating the services with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Siloam Baptist Church on Friday, June 21, 2019, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and will continue on Saturday, June 22, 2019, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
Mr. Freeman, 80, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS, with his loving family by his side. He was born on March 27, 1939, in Natchez, MS, to Carey and Versie Whittington Freeman. He was a member and Deacon of 25 years at Siloam Baptist Church; served his country in the US Air Force; was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber; served as the District 5 Supervisor for 12 years; and enjoyed rabbit hunting, wood working, watching the Atlanta Braves, gardening, selling watermelons and sweet potatoes, and spending time with his family. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Inez Ortega; brother, Floyd Freeman; and grandson, Cole Freeman.
Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Olvey Cothren Freeman; children, Charlotte Freeman Malone and husband Paul of Liberty, MS, Chuck Freeman and wife Brandee of Meadville, MS, and Melissa Freeman of Meadville, MS; sister, Avis Peer of Biloxi, MS; grandchildren, Brett Malone, Chris Malone, Kelsi Malone, Blaine Freeman, Chase Freeman, Emily Coleman, Sophie Cothren, and Zack Cothren; great-grandchild, Ky Cole Freeman; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers are Brett Malone, Chris Malone, Blaine Freeman, Chase Freeman, Zack Cothren, and Robert Peer.
