Mr. Carroll Monroe McFarland, 65, was called into the presence of the Lord on October 17, 2016, at his residence in Smithdale, MS. Mr. McFarland was born at Franklin County, MS on October 15, 1951 to Mr. Winfield McFarland and Mrs. Mary Jane Wallace McFarland.

Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and continue Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 1:00 PM till time of service at 2:00 PM, at the Funeral Home The graveside service will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery at Smithdale, MS. Rev. Mike Morris will be officiating the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Carroll worked 38 years as a Line Supervisor at American Rail Car in Bude, MS, prior to his retirement. He gained the respect of many through his hard work, dedication and commitment to the men he supervised. Carroll loved his family and the many animals he cared for.

Carroll is preceded in death by his parents, Winfield McFarland and Mary Jane Wallace McFarland; brother, James Winfield (J.W.) McFarland and sister, Anna Faye Middleton.

Survivors are his wife, Linda Freeman McFarland; daughters, Candace Sanders (Eric) of Smithdale, MS and Carlena Roberts (Daniel) of Smithdale, MS; sisters, Sue McCaa and Bessie Mae Froust; brother, Thomas Leroy McFarland, along with a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are, Buster Middleton, David McFarland, Billy Terrell, Donny Terrell, Rusty Bass, and Leroy McFarland Jr.
