Mrs. Carol Sue Whittington Maxie , 71, was called home from this life on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Claiborne County Medical Center. Mrs. Maxie born December 25, 1944 to Mr. Paul Barney Whittington and Virginia Lee Smith Whittington.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Maxie is preceded in death by parents Paul Barney Whittington and Virginia Lee Smith Whittington

Survivors are her sons, Paul B. Smallwood and Stephen Matthew Smallwood of Dallas, TX; daughters, Whitney Lee Benczik and Tiffany Laticia Smallwood of Dallas, TX. She also had numerous grandchildren and one great-grandchild; her "twisted sisters" as they were called are Diane Whittington Casto and Vickie Jo Whittington Lechler. She is also survived by a host of family and friends.

Suzie loved the Lord and her family, lots of people and animals. Suzie was very talented putting together folk art using old limbs, branches, leaves, and carvings using only glue and wood. She also loved to collect rocks and could see things in rocks that most others would overlook. She loved entertaining children with her imaginary "Tweety Bird". She loved her latest family at Meadville Convalescent Home. All will miss her funny, twisted faces and weird sense of humor.
