Bobbye M. Graves' Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Bobbye M. Graves will be on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Roxie, MS. Bro. Van Windham will be officiating the services with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home on Saturday, December 10, 2016, from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.
Mrs. Graves, 84, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at her residence in Roxie, MS. She was born on July 1, 1932 in Roxie, MS, to Oliver and Pearline Prather McCall. She was a member of Roxie Baptist Church; worked for twenty-six years as a rural mail carrier at the Roxie Post Office; and enjoyed playing the piano, growing flowers, and sewing. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Oliver and Pearline Prather McCall; and grandson, Justin Graves.
Survivors are her husband of 56 years, Henry "Carroll" Graves; daughters, Brenda Whitehead of Natchez, MS, and Susan Graves Jackson and husband Jimmy of Roxie, MS; sons, Ricky Whitehead and wife Carolyn of Roxie, MS, Eddie Ray Whitehead of Brookhaven, MS, and Carroll "Dink" Graves and wife Jan of Roxie, MS; sister, Dorothy Gammill of Meadville, MS; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are Timmy Hunt, Dennis Norman, Chris Roider, Paul Arnold, Bill Halford and James Newman. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Jackson and Cleo Buie.
Mr. Carroll would like to extend a special thank you to granddaughter Faith Jackson and to daughter Susan Jackson for their many hours of dedicated care to their grandmother and mother.
