Obituary

Billy S. Chapman, 87, was called home from this life on Monday, August 31, 2015, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Billy was born December 10, 1927, in Lucien, MS, to James Quitman and Ollie Wilson Chapman.

Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue Thursday, September 3, 2015, from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM. The graveside service will follow in Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin County. Rev. Matt Alexander and Rev. Johnny Bolin will officiate the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Billy was a member and Deacon of Meadville Baptist Church. He was a long-time employee of Scarbrough Motors in Meadville, MS, and co-owner of C & C Motors in Meadville, MS. He served as the Meadville Fire Chief for several years. He really enjoyed fishing, traveling and dining out. He was a loving husband, father, uncle and friend to all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Quitman and Ollie Wilson Chapman; and daughter, Betty Ann Chapman.

Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Reba Carwyle Chapman; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers are Ronnie Carwyle, Ken Carwyle, Jeremy Howell, Adam Steele, James Conley, Eddie Holmes, Mark Fortenbery, Joey Taylor, and Ronny Thompson.

Honorary Pallbearers are the members of the Meadville Fire Department.

The family wishes to extend a very special "Thank You" to caregiver, Katherine Channell.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to Natchez Children's Home, Baptist Children's Village or St. Jude's.
