Billie Joe Davis, 81, of Bude, MS died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 9:00 A M until 11:00 A M until the time of the graveside service at 11:00 A M at Franklin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Midway Cemetery in Meadville, MS. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Davis was born June 25, 1931 in Bude, MS. He was the son of William and Olympia Davis, and Roger and Hazel Lenior. He served in the US Navy on the USS Frank E Evans during the Korean War. Upon returning from the Korean War, he entered a plumbing apprenticeship and worked for 45 years as a plumber. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents: Charles and Nancy Jane Meyer; and special uncle and aunt: Louie and Alma Souleret.
Survivors are his wife: LaRuth Bilbo Davis; sons: James Carroll Davis and wife Phyllis of Jackson, MS, and John Paul Davis and wife Chastity of Huntsville, AL; daughters: Nancy Jane Dunnihoo of Spotsylvania, VA and Nora Jean Nowell and husband Richard of Pearl, MS; grandchildren: Jeremy Dunnihoo, Ryan Dunnihoo, Zach Harlan, Bailey Davis, Matthew Davis, and Miranda Davis; and great grandchild: Laurali Dunnihoo.
