Betty Jean Woods, 78, of Roxie, MS, passed from this life on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, LA. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Franklin Funeral Home and continue on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 12:30 PM until the time of the service at 1:30 PM at the Wood Spring Baptist Church in Tomnolen, MS. The graveside service will follow in the church Cemetery. Bro. Van Windom and Bro. Jamie Wallace will be officiating the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Woods was born February 3, 1936 in Choctaw County, MS to Thomas and Joyce Allen McCulloch. She was a member of the Roxie Baptist Church. She was a retired seamstress that worked for many years in the garment industry. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Joyce Allen McCulloch; husband, L.D. Woods; son, Leroy Woods; and brother, Truman McCulloch.

Survivors are her daughters, Sheila Woods of Jackson, MS, and Rhonda Woods Mallory of Roxie, MS; brother, James McCulloch and wife Billie Sue of Eupora, MS; grandchildren, Monya Young, Charlie Woods, Jade Mallory and Lillian Woods; great grandchild, Michaela Brown; special niece, Marlene Cummins; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
