Funeral services for Betty Jean Bishop will be on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Meadville, MS at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Meadville, MS at 9:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM. Elder Thomas Griffin, Elder Luke Addison, and Bro. Matthew Bishop will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Betty Jean Bishop, 93, of Meadville, MS passed from this life on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born on January 9, 1931 in Franklin County, MS to Mr. Hosie Temple and Mrs. Lucy Cotten Temple.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and church family.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, Elder Byron Tillmon "B.T." Bishop, Jr.

Survivors are her sons, Alex Bishop (Elizabeth), Byron Tillmon Bishop, III (Rosemary); daughters, Dina Cothren (Mitch), Lawanna Cothren (Gary); sister Billie Rose Stroud; 13 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
