Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Smith will be on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS at 10:00 AM, with burial to follow in the Smith Family Cemetery in Roxie, MS. Rev. James Hunsucker will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and resume on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 9:00 AM until time of service at 10:00 AM.

Mrs. Smith, 72, of Roxie, MS, passed from this life on Monday, February 6, 2023 at her residence. She was born on December 16, 1950 in Laurel, MS to Mr. Lee C. Roney and Mrs. Minnie Price Roney.

She enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Lee and Minnie Roney; sister Glenda Yates; brothers, Lavell Roney, Albert Roney, Allan Roney, Joe Roney and Richard Roney.

Survivors are her husband of 45 years, Thomas J. (T.J.) Smith; sons, Gregory Smith and wife, Mamie, Michael Smith and wife, Kristy, Anthony Smith and wife Michelle; sisters, Martha Pitts, Judy Patrick, Diane Overstreet; grandchildren, Joshua, Aden, Madison, Dakota, Alyssa, Leslie, David Lee, Hunter, and Annabelle.

Pallbearers are Joshua Smith, Aden Smith, Dakota Smith, David Lee Smith, Hunter Smith and Ramsey Brown.

Honorary pallbearer is Kyle Oswalt.
