Funeral services for Arthur Leon Boyte will be on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Roxie Baptist Church in Roxie, MS at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at Roxie Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and will continue on Saturday, April 25, at Roxie Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM. Rev. Jamie Wallace and Rev. Tyson Windom will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Arthur Leon Boyte, 88, of Roxie, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, MS. He was born on February 14, 1938 in Roxie, MS to Mr. William Earl Boyte and Mrs. Annie Louise Combs Boyte.
He enjoyed supporting the Franklin County football and baseball, where his son played and continued to be a spectator at games until the very end. He also supported Co-Lin baseball, also in memory of his son. He was a faithful member of Roxie Baptist Church where his family attended. He was a member for 50 years of the Woodmen of the World, United Commercial Travelers, Order of the Eastern Star, and Masonic Lodge. Leon retired from the Mississippi National Guard and also the International Paper Mill in Natchez where he was employed for 25 years. He will also be remembered for is restaurant A&J Burgers in Bude, MS from 1991- 2000. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him.
Preceding him in death were his parents, William Earl Boyte and Annie Louise Combs Boyte; son, Arthur Leon Boyte Jr; and brothers, Herbert Lee Boyte and Kenneth Boyte.
Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Edna Jerlene Boyte and a host of family and friends.
