Aquilla Lucile Holland King, born September 29, 1934, died August 18, 2016 in Hattiesburg Ms. at the age of 81.
Services will be held at Praise Cathedral Church of God in Meadville, MS on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 1:00 pm, with guest visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Graveside services will follow at the Byrd's Chapel Church of God Cemetery in the Berrytown community in Franklin County. Pastor Eric Richards will officiate. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. King worked as a bookkeeper for several years until her and her husband opened the Motorola shop in Hattiesburg, Ms in 1972; and then A&H Communications in McComb, Ms. in 1981. She was known for her prayer life, godly example, and gift of hospitality. She was always looking for opportunities to minister to others, to open her home to pastors, evangelists, and missionaries who needed a place to stay. She is known for the many meals she lovingly prepared to encourage and minister to so many in order to advance the Kingdom of God. She was a volunteer at Merit Health Wesley Hospital, an active member of the Hattiesburg Quilters, and was a Sunday school teacher and member of the Petal Spiritual Life Center. She was a long time member of the Byrd's Chapel and Praise Cathedral Church of God in Meadville.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry B. King who passed away in 2000, and her parents, Lamar and Cammie Holland of Natchez, Ms.
She is survived by her four children, Tammy and Richard Morris of Meridian, Mary Jean and Tommy Taylor of Hattiesburg, Aaron and Shannon King of Jackson, and Jarvis and Cindy King of Bogue Chitto. She had nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was a prayer warrior and will be missed by all.
