Annie Laura Summerall, 84, of Meadville, MS, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Promise Specialty Hospital in Vidalia, LA. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Franklin Funeral Home, 291 Main Street, Meadville, MS is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 10 to 11 AM at Franklin Funeral Home.

Mrs. Annie enjoyed playing softball, going on vacations, and camping with her family. She also enjoyed listening to and watching the ball games. Voluntering at the Meadville Nursing Home was also very important to her.

She is preceded in death by her husband Percy "Red" Summerall; parents: Sidney Nathaniel and Annie Mullins Thornton; a child, Carolin Summerall Ezell; her brothers: Sidney Thornton, Rudy Thornton, and an infant brother; sisters: Bessie Higginbotham, Pearl Holland, Lucille Leonard, Mae Ivey, Earnestine McCartney, and infant Imogene Thornton.

She is survived by her children: Annie Pearl Cox of Bude, MS; Betty Mae Wilkinson and husband Frank of Meadville, MS; Vickie Marie Miller and husband Rayford of Roxie, MS; David Nathaniel Summerall of Meadville, MS; Dalton Wayne Summerall of Woodville, MS; a brother, Herbert Thornton of Meadville, MS, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Clarence Leggett, Jimmy Kelley, James Brown, Rex Sullivan, Jim Ezell, and Larry Summerall. Honorary Pallbearers will be Calvin Foster and Walter Thompson.
