Alvin Jones, 72, of Monticello, MS, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 28, 2014 at the St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive. Burial will follow in Mission Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Wesson, MS. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Jones was born October 21, 1941, in Douglas, GA to Albert Daniel and Lizzie Mae Allen Jones. He was a retired truck driver. He was a member of New Providence Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Preceded in death by his parents, Albert Daniel and Lizzie Mae Allen Jones; and wife, Martha Jones.

Survivors are his sisters, Shirley Parks of Griffin, GA, and Ruth Linda Brugonone and husband Lee of Florida; brother, John Irvin Jones of McDonough, GA; niece, Pamela Perkins and husband Scott; nephew, David Terrel Cook and Richard Lane Cook and wife Bonnie Sue; a host of grandchildren, other nieces & nephews, and friends.
