Alice C. Zumbro, 91, of Bude, MS, was called home from this life on Friday, May 22, 2015, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, LA. Mrs. Zumbro was born in Meadville, MS, on November 24, 1923, to Frank and Mary Whitehead Cowart.
Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS on Sunday, May 24, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue at First Baptist Church of Bude, in Bude, MS, on Monday, May 25, 2015 from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 10:00 AM. The graveside service will follow in Midway Cemetery in Meadville, MS. Rev. Webb Armstrong will officiate the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Zumbro worked for many years in the Franklin County Tax/Assessor's Office and also served as the Tax Assessor/Collector for Franklin County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bude. She enjoyed working on the farm. She enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Whitehead Cowart; husband, Ed Zumbro, Sr.; and sisters, Margaret Cowart Ashley and Marion Cowart King.
Survivors are sons, Ed Zumbro and wife Shirley of Bude, MS, and Glen Zumbro of Bude, MS; 4 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are Lee Zumbro, Cody Zumbro, Ricky King, Randy Reynolds, Mike Zumbro and Will Zumbro.
The family wishes to extend a very special "Thank You" to the staff of Franklin County Memorial Hospital, Meadville Convalescent Home and Promise Hospital.
