Obituary

Alfred Davis "Cry" Smith, 74, was called home from this life on September 29, 2015 at Franklin County Memorial Hospital in Meadville, MS. Mr. Smith was born October 14, 1940 to Wilkin and Willie Mae Twiner Smith.

Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 5 PM until 8 PM and will continue Friday, October 2, 2015 from 9 AM until the time of service at 10 AM at Franklin Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow in Midway Cemetery in Meadville, MS. Rev. James Hunsucker will officiate the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Smith worked for many years as a farmer and logger. He was a member of Elmo Baptist Church. He loved to run his dogs. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by parents, Wilkin and Willie Mae Twiner Smith; and sister, Carolyn Janet Smith.

Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Virginia Ann Farrell Smith of Roxie, MS; daughter, Lynn Smith Perry and husband Rodger of Roxie, MS; sons, Lyle Smith and wife Amy of Roxie, MS, and Lance Smith and wife Stephanie of Roxie, MS; brothers, Alton Smith and wife Peggy, Herman Smith and wife Betty, David Smith and wife Sharon, T. J. Smith and wife Barbara, and Ellis Smith and wife Susie; sisters, Jo Smith Pierce and Diana Smith Russell; grandchildren, Casey Smith, Bryson Smith, Kinsley Smith, Derek Jones and Adam Perry; two special friends, Bryant Thompson and Ricky Alexander; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers are Harvey Farrell, Anthony Farrell, Ben Thompson, Brett Thompson, Johnathan Hodges, Michael Smith and Greg Smith.

Honorary Pallbearers are Hilton Havard, Michael Petty and Morris Ellis.

The family wishes to extend a very special "Thank You" to the staff of Franklin County Memorial Hospital.
